PRIMARY CARE
A Comprehensive Look
The Primary Care Patient Experience Survey is the foundation from which all of our other specialty-specific surveys are built. With guidance from our physician advisor Gregory Pawlson, MD, MPH, FACP, we developed this core survey to look at what matters most for anyone practicing in today's healthcare environment. This survey focuses on how the patient feels about the provider's communication, the practice operations, and the overall customer service. Taking a look at all points of interaction with the patient, the practice can gain insights into areas where they are excelling as well as areas that need improvement. The questions are statistically aligned with the CG-CAHPS surveys and benchmarking is available in the dashboard for comparative analysis.

A Comprehensive Look
MedStatix's Health Center Survey builds on the foundation of our Primary Care Survey. This survey focuses on the care setting for Federally Qualified Health Centers, rural health, and underserved patient populations. We cover the four areas (Access, Communication, Care Coordination, Whole Person) required by Patient Centered Medical Home to qualify for Factor 1A. Taking a look at all points of interaction with the patient, the practice can gain insights into areas where they excel, as well as areas that need improvement.

A Comprehensive Look
MedStatix's Gastrointestinal Survey takes a comprehensive look at the
treatment of digestive disorders. With the assistance of physician advisor Peter Cotton, MD, we review the importance of the procedures that are performed by the gastroenterologist. We realize that there are key areas where communication can break down between the practice and the patient during the procedure process. The first of these areas is the explanation of the risks/complications and benefits of the procedure. The second area is in the pre-procedure preparation, where staff must communicate changes in diet, medications, and bowel prep. The final area is with the anesthesiologist and the explanation of the risks and complications and overall pain management during the procedure. All of these items help the gastroenterology practice identify where they are excelling and what areas need extra attention.

CARDIOLOGY
A Comprehensive Look
MedStatix's Cardiology Survey takes a comprehensive look at the treatment of heart-related conditions. With the guidance of physician advisor Eric Powers, MD, FACC Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, we focus on two areas where safety is an issue. Cardiologists are high prescribers of medications for preventative and therapeutic treatment of conditions. Our survey questions are designed to provide insights into how well the provider communicated the reasons for taking the medication, possible side effects, and alternative treatment options. The other area in a surgical specialty practice are around the surgeries performed. We ask the patients about the communication around the risks/complications and benefits of the surgery and the offering of alternative treatment options. Understanding that heart health can often be managed without clinical intervention, we have a series of questions that focus on dietary changes and weight loss management to ensure that proper patient education is occurring for those patients. All of these items lead to the best clinical care with the best clinical outcomes.

MedStatix's Bariatric Survey takes a comprehensive look at the weight loss process from a patient's perspective. With the guidance of physician advisor Philip Schauer, MD, we understand that patient education during this journey is a key factor in the overall outcomes. Our bariatric survey focuses on how well both the doctor and the dietitian are able to educate and involve the patient in their care. With any surgery it is also important to manage the patient's expectations as it related to their outcomes. This survey allows the providers to see how they are doing at managing those expectations.

MedStatix's OB/GYN Survey takes a comprehensive look at the treatment of obstetrics and gynecology. The guidance from physician advisors Richard Waldman, MD, and Paul Gluck, MD, provided us with the opportunity to look at the patient experience from the vantage point of what is important for the National Patient Safety Foundation and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. For our obstetrical patients we ask specific questions about preparation and comfort during the delivery, satisfaction with post-partum care, communication during pre- and post-delivery, and communication about medications and surgeries.

MedStatix's Orthopedic Survey takes a comprehensive look at the treatment of orthopedic conditions. With the guidance of physician advisor Choll Kim, MD, we understand that a significant portion of treatment in orthopedics is pain management. We delve into how the patient's pain is being managed and their overall treatment experience. We also understand that most orthopedic practices have a significant amount of ancillary services typically available within their practice. We provide insights into the X-ray experience, surgery scheduling, test scheduling, and how well physical therapy staff are treating the patients. Every point of interaction with your patient is a point that can be measured to find where the experience was favorable or where the experience needs some improvement.

Urology
A Comprehensive Look
MedStatix's Urology Survey takes a comprehensive look at the treatment of urologic conditions. With the guidance of physician advisor Paul Sieber, MD, we focus on prostate cancer and urodynamic testing. Incontinence is a very common, yet often embarrassing, condition for patients. We focus on the level of comfort and privacy of the urodynamic testing and if the procedure produced the desired outcome for the patient. In the treatment of any cancer diagnosis there is a certain level of sensitivity that the provider needs to have with the patients and their families. Our survey questions are designed to provide insights into how well the provider communicated the extent of the malignancy, all treatment options, and possible complications that can arise from treatment. All of these items lead to the best clinical care with the best clinical outcomes.
